A little catching up to do...

Well, life has been a lot more busy around the Green house this past week.  Work is going great and I have some super sweet little first graders!  I've still been EXHAUSTED, but I have to say that week 2 was better than week 1. One of my sweet girls asked me if my grandkids liked to color!  I said my kids like to and then I added, do I look THAT tired?!  She just giggled!  =)  I just don't have any free time. period.  Any spare time I have goes to Charlee and Saylor and that will never change for as long as I live. and if you know Brent, you know that goes double for him.  =)   We worked way too hard to get these two precious angels here.
I lost my voice after the first couple of days of school and it's still MIA.  I did start using some chloraseptic spray this weekend and that's helped a lot. THANK GOODNESS because we've got a VERY BUSY week ahead of us!!!!!!!  Charlee and Saylor will be 2 on Friday!  WOW!!  We'll have their pictures Thursday afternoon, I'm taking off Friday so I can get their cakeS done...yes, there will be 2.  And so I can finish up the last minute decorations (i'm making most of these too).  Their party is Saturday at 10 A.M.  We decided to do a morning party because it won't interfere with their naps and everybody can come here to eat lunch and have the rest of the day rest (or maybe that's just us).  Sunday will be my Grandma's 90th birthday party and I CANNOT WAIT to see all of my family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Most are coming in on Thursday and leaving on Monday!  I'll be on the edge of my seat waiting on them to arrive!
I'm going to TRY to do the blog at least once a week.  I know this will be a big change from the last couple of years.  I know some of you check it everyday for an update.  I have to admit any time I get on the computer I check it too...even though I know it's not been updated.  I just like checking in and then I'll read what I wrote and realize all the errors I made.  I guess I should proofread before I publish....oh well!  =)
Here are some pictures from the past week.

BEAUTIFUL BABIES!

Corn on the cob...YUMMY!

Our niece, Alex, had her 8th birthday party at Meme and Papa's house yesterday.  It's so hard to believe how fast everybody's growing up!

Brent's MeeMaw's birthday was yesterday and HE made her cake!!  =)  I just did the writing.  I can honestly say I taught him everything he knows!  He did awesome!  Jordyn thought so, too!

This is Alex's butterfly cake.  It was my first time using a shape pan.

Family Fun!

Well, I survived my first week as a"working mother".  I crashed every night as soon as the girls were layed down and I got my face washed.  I was so exhausted that it reminded me of when the girls were first born up to about 6 months old when I wondered if I get 3 straight hours of sleep a day.  Needless to say, we got me some vitamins this weekend and hopefully they'll help.
I did have one break down at school...after my students left for PE I checked my phone and Tracy had sent me a text just letting me know that my sweeties were having a great and day and she hoped I was too.  Well, I couldn't help myself and just had a pity party, but soon got all better and went on with my day.  It'll all be ok, but I'm missing them SO, SO much!!  They're doing fabulous with the change!  But, when I get home, Charlee jumps into my arms and squeezes me and doesn't want to let me go for awhile.  I'm very good with this!  Saylor is really happy to see me, but she's good with a hug and a kiss and then she gets back to whatever she was doing.    Overall, so far so good with everything!

We went to visit with Brent's MeeMaw this week...it took the girls a little while to warm up, but once they did they definitely entertained her.  She's not been doing very well lately and when we were leaving she said, "Well, that was better than a dose of medicine".  =)

Having a sister is SO much fun!!!

Saylor wearing her "dress".  I love that the tv says "BIG"!!

They have converted their LeapFrog table that Uncle John got them into a sit-n-spin!  WEEEEE!

And a tea party table...they're sitting on their doodle tables, too!

My First Day with my Firsties

Well I survived my first day with some super sweet first graders.  I will definitely say that first grade is a WORLD of difference from fourth grade!  =)  I also had to get my brain wrapped around being a TEACHER again.  I know it'll all come back to me, but honest to goodness, going from Momma-mode for two years and not EVEN thinking about school has been an adjustment!  AND I AM SO TIRED!  =)  It's a good tired, a grateful tired, but WHOA!  I'm wiped out by the time bed time rolls around.
My highlight of my first day was when one of my sweet little girls needed a band-aid and as I was putting her Dora band-aid on, she looked up at me and said "you're just like a doctor"...that was priceless!  Another sweet little girl told me that if she had squid arms she'd help me do everything!  I'm really looking forward to lots more of this!

ME!  I felt goofy setting the timer, but I kinda wanted a picture of me in my room.

Funny girls

We've had a great (short) weekend!  =)   I had almost forgotten how short weekends are when you're working.  Now that we've got Charlee and Saylor I think it made this one go by twice as fast because I had hoped it would drag by.  We've got lots going on in the next few weeks and they're gonna be 2 before we can blink...  I hope most of you have gotten your birthday invitations by now.  They were lots of fun to make!  =)  I hope I'm always able to make them as years go by, but we'll see what they have in mind.  Here are a few pictures from the past couple days.  Students start school tomorrow and I'm really excited to meet my sweet little firsties.  Say a little prayer for all of us.

HOORAY!!!!

Tea, anyone??

Oh, Daddy!  We love you!

Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho...

...It's off to work I go!  I have to admit that it all hit me A LOT harder than I had expected.  I did successfully make it through my first day, though.  Tears were shed, but I survived and I've been told more times than I want to hear "it'll get easier".  I did keep telling myself that in just a few short years my little sweeties will get to go to school with me everyday...and if the next 3 years go by as quickly as these 2 then I have no worries.  =)  But, ya wanna know one of the worst parts about going back to work?  I have to start wearing pants that button now.  I sure have enjoyed my "uniform" these past couple years.  hehehe
Here are few pictures of this past weekend.  I'm really gonna miss my sweet girls.     =)

Silly girls with their shirts on their heads.

Meme, Papa, Cameron and Dylan came over on Saturday and we had the BEST time!  They were out of water because of the storms that past through and lightning struck a main water line for Lexington.  So, they ate some dinner with us.  =)

and then we went outside to enjoy the cooler temperatures and we did some sidewalk chalk art.  SO MUCH FUN!!!!!

Dylan is playing football now.  =)  Brent got his old helmet out and it actually almost fit Dylan...

 and Charlee...

 and Saylor.

My last day as a stay at home Mommy...the girls were extra sweet on Monday with each other and with me.

Mrs. Green's 1st Grade Classroom

I'm NOWHERE near finished, but I wanted to share with you my progress.  It's coming together.

Just a reminder of the BEFORE...

AND NOW...

23 Months Old

On August 2nd, the girls were 23 MONTHS OLD!  That's the last time I can say "...Months Old" and not sound crazy!  This has been the most incredible time of my life.  Getting to stay home with our sweet angels has been amazing and I would do it all over again if given the chance.  I've been working in my classroom a good bit this week.  Today will be the last day I'll get to work before teachers start back on Tuesday and that means my 2 year "Summer Vacation" is over and I'll be an official "working mom".  (I just took a REALLY deep breathe)...(maybe that was a sigh.......)

Charlee looked over at Saylor during dinner and said "Oooh, Saywor, Hair".  This was Saylor's reaction. =)

Charlee's new pouty face.  This comes out at least 5 times a day.

SILLY GIRLS!
