I'd say we're home free!!!!! It's Friday, day 4, at 12:50 p.m. and the girls (and Daddy) are sound asleep! I'm so glad that I decided to go ahead and get rid of the girls' pap paps. Only now I'm realizing that pacifiers are one of those "baby" things. They're not little babies anymore. It's all so bittersweet! Hooray, Hooray for Charlee and Saylor! You girls have done awesome!!
I've also figured out that Saylor wasn't saying, "Happy, happy". Yes, she would repeat it for me so she IS saying it, but she was saying "A, B, A, B". We've got the Leap Frog magnetic alphabet that sings the song and teaches the letter sounds. She was singing her abc's!! She's brilliant!! =)

Day 2: SUCCESS!!
I'm amazed at just how well this whole getting rid of pacis thing is going! I don't want to jinx it so I won't say too much. =) Saylor had a little bit harder time getting to sleep tonight. She would get almost sound asleep and then wake up crying, but it didn't last long at all. SO, let's hope all goes just as well the rest of the week! =)
On another note...our little girls are talking more and more everyday!!! It's unreal at how many new words they're saying now. Some of my favorite that Saylor's saying are "happy, happy, happy..." and "I don't know". Charlee's are "Shaydor" "Bent" and "bra". I know, I know! She has to grab my strap as she says it and then she cheers! It's adorable as long as we're sitting at home. =) And she says "Daddy" all the time but sometimes she says Bent. So I have to be really careful not to call Brent "Brent" and be sure to say Daddy. Which doesn't bother me one bit 'cause I think it's sweet! =)
Here's some pictures of tonight.
I told you I'd probably change the green lamp and I did. I just kept trying to talk myself into liking it and I knew I never would. So, it's all pink now. I like it much better! The one on the left is the original one that has always been in the girls' room. I've decided to put the new one in Saylor's room and paint the old one for Charlee. Now that I see the old one against the new painted one I really can't believe I liked it to begin with.

Isn't she a cutie pie!?!

Day 1: SUCCESS!
Day 1 without pacis went better than I expected! Naps and night time were harder on Charlee than Saylor. This really surprised me because Saylor's usually the one who has to have hers. But, we stayed busy (as usual)!
My littles dancing with their new style. First, Saylor took her arm out of her sleeve, then she helped Charlee with hers.

I love this picture!
I LOVE you Saydor!

My little artists!! We finger painted for the first time last night! =) They did a beautiful job!! I was just gonna give them a piece of paper, but I thought I'd make their first time a little more special with a real canvas. =) Look at Charlee looking at her hands...she really wasn't so sure about it, but Saylor just jumped right in!

Bye Bye Pap Paps!
Hopefully this is the last picture you'll see of Charlee and Saylor with their pacis. According to the Farmer's Almanac the zodiac is in the knee as of today, January 4th. It will work it's way to the foot in 4 days and then it's out of the body. Shirley's sister told her that when you're trying to quit something it works best if you follow the zodiac. It's worth a try and I really hope it's a success. Wish us luck!
