Happy Bumps
I've never been so happy to see bumps! Charlee started to break out yesterday, which means that her fever broke and she's not contagious anymore. The bumps don't bother the girls at all or they certainly wouldn't be welcome from me! This was a rough little virus that ended up going to Jordyn and Addyson too. We stopped by to see them last Wednesday when we got home from the beach (before we knew anything was wrong). This goes to show how contagious it was! I hate that all 4 of our kiddos were sick. =(

Charlee
Charlee definitely had her ups and downs today. This morning she ended up having a fever of 105.6!!!! SCARED ME TO DEATH!! I immediately gave her some ibuprofen called the doctor and got her in the tub to get it down. Thankfully, it got down to 102 and she was ready to play again...She never had any vomiting, but her fever would be high and low. It never got THAT high again. We would've been out the door if it hadn't come down. She ate and drank really well all day and I feel like that's helped her more than anything. She's sleeping now, but when we laid her down her temperature was 101.5. I'm about to go check again before I get to bed. Hopefully, it's on it's way down. Our poor, sweet baby girls!
Poor Charlee
Well, it was bound to happen. Our little Charlee woke up this morning with a 103 fever. She's eating and drinking great, so maybe she'll just have the fever part of the sickness. I also did some research of my own about the throat virus and one of it's symptoms is "hand, foot and mouth disease" after the fever breaks. So that's the bumps on Saylor. Those look better this morning, too. She's just been having a tough time sleeping since all this happened, too. You'd think she'd just want to sleep as bad as she's felt, but nope. I think it's a lot of just wanting to be held, too. =)

Like Mother, Like Daughters
The girls had a pretty good night. Charlee - GREAT, Saylor - just okay. Charlee's mucus issue has been so much better since she started the new prescription. Last night we decided to get them out for a short ride on the golf cart. We know that the pollen is bad, but it's not going anywhere for awhile and we just can't stay in a bubble, although I'm pretty sure whatever they've had stemmed from allergies. I'm afraid the girls are gonna take after me and not be able to even sit in the grass without breaking out in some kind of rash. My throat started hurting while we were riding and by the time we got back in the house my left eye was so, so red. This is why you'll never see me out doing any kind of yardwork. It's not because I don't want to do it, it's just because I'm afraid of even pulling out a weed from the landscaping because I'll have some kind of reaction. I'm very thankful Brent enjoys it because I never have. If it was my responsibility I'd have to pay somebody to do it for us because our yard would look terrible if I was in charge of those duties. I can't even be outside when the grass is being cut because I start sneezing my head off. It's just not my cup of tea. I'll just stick with my inside projects. =) I sure hope that allergy shots aren't in Charlee and Saylor's future, but I'm afraid it's just in the genes.
We still haven't heard back from the rotavirus test. I'll call later today to get our (negative) results.

Feeling better?
We're still waiting to hear back from the rotavirus test, but we just don't think that's what they have. Charlee hasn't had fever or diarhea since Friday. Saylor hasn't had any diarhea but still had fever at 3 this morning. We feel like the reason Charlee is vomiting is because of ALL the mucus! We did have a prescription for that called in yesterday, but trying to get her to take any medicine is almost impossible. We just disguise it really well. Hopefully we're on the mend.
This is how germs spread like wildfire around here. Who's gonna deny a sister a kiss, though?
Poor Charlee can't breathe with her mouth closed. =(

Rotavirus??
We had to take both girls back to the doctor this morning. We saw someone different and I was very happy about that! They still have fevers, now diarrhea, and Charlee has started vomiting. They're testing for the rotavirus and we're hoping that's not what it is, but we know they're sick and contagious. We should know the test results tomorrow or Sunday. Sooner the better. In the meantime, we're making sure they get plenty of fluids and hoping it all passes QUICKLY!!

Down and Out or Up and At 'Em?
On Monday morning Charlee woke up with a fever, I gave her motrin and tylenol all day and she got better. She was great on Tuesday, but Wednesday morning it happened again. I took her to the doctor and he said her lungs and ears were clear. She did have a stuffy/snotty nose, so he thought that the fever was just her body's way of fighting off the mucus issue. She was great by lunch time. She had a rough night and couldn't sleep Wednesday into Thursday. Saylor didn't sleep well either but never woke up. She coughed all night, too. Saylor woke up this morning (Thursday) with a 102 fever. So, I gave her ibuprofen and she was feeling better by 9 a.m. Her temperature had gone back up as the medicine wore off, but she seems to be feeling better. Not sure what's going on exactly but their fevers seem to come and go and they're still playing and seem to be feeling pretty good. We shall see...
Here are a few pictures from this week.
Wearing Momma's "baa".
This is how we enjoy the trampoline nowadays. Charlee loved it on the inside for about 2 days. Now she'd rather just watch Saylor jump. Needless to say, I'm ready for it to be in the backyard.
Talking on their phones to Daddy.
Reading their newest book with Daddy.
Watching Daddy grill some hotdogs.
Our aprons from the Homebuilder's Show.
SILLY! Daddy had to borrow Momma's sunglasses so he would fit in with the girls. =)
My latest cakes... This one is for my Uncle Stacy's birthday.
This one is for our monthly get together that's going on as I'm typing this. We had to miss out because I'm pretty sure whatever we have is contagious. =( I just used the icing I had left over from the Alabama cake and threw this one together. Meme, Papa, and Aunt Tracy came by and picked these up on their way to Aunt Kristi and Tillman's house.

A Little Setback
I decided to take the girls back to the doctor this morning. Over the weekend, we knew they were a lot better than they were during the week, but they were incredibly crabby and clingy and starting to develop a pretty nasty cough. It would be the strangest thing, they would be great for 2 or 3 hours and then, WHAM! they would feel so bad and of course everything is worse at night. Last night was their worst with coughing and drainage... no fevers, but just couldn't rest. Saylor's cough has been worse than Charlee's so she got a prescription for a steroid and if Charlee's gets any worse we can give it to her, too.(if we can get it down her, she's awful at taking medicine). It's about 10:00 on Monday night and both sweeties are sleeping soundly for now. I'm hoping for a good night...we all need one.=)
Here's a few pictures that I took over the last week and tonight.
hmmm...what's this?

"Look Momma, I'm 'in sink'!" =)

Playing the organ at Aunt Joyce's house.

After our doctor's appointment today. Look how pitiful Saylor is! Charlee just loves loving on Saylor.

Feeling Better
The girls are doing a lot better! Thank goodness! They were so pitiful and seeing them that way at the same time was so hard! This flu really got the best of them. They both still have runny/stuffy noses and are really clingy, but otherwise they're great and back to playing and singing and dancing.

Still not 100%...
Poor Charlee still has some tummy troubles. I took her to the doctor on Friday and she was given some stuff to sprinkle on her food to hopefully start getting some bacteria back in her system. So, I've been doing that and she's getting there. BUT, Saylor has it today! She's not got all the symptoms Charlee had, but still she's sick...They also have to eat a very bland diet...this is hard when you've got 2 picky little eaters! -why did they have to take after me in that department?- Hopefully, we'll all be ready to eat some turkey on Thursday, though! =)

Look how their feet and legs are exactly the same!
