GOD IS GOOD!

I honestly don't know how to start this post.  I've been putting it off for quite some time.  Brent's accident has forever changed us.We know that God was watching over him that day and that he is still here with us because God has a big plan for him.  Charlee and Saylor have been so good with him during his recovery.  Of course they didn't understand so much in the beginning.  While we were at the hospital they knew that Daddy had a boo boo and Momma was at the doctor's with him.  Charlee talked the most about what she saw that day and the things that happened.  I have a hard time talking about the details.  It literally makes my stomach hurt when I think about it too much.  So, without getting too deep into details, for now, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who thought of Brent during everything.  He felt every prayer, I promise.  HE IS AMAZING!!

You may get picture overload here, but I have a little catching up to do.  Some of these were taken before Brent's accident.

We went to see the lions at UNA.  They were excited when we first got there, but then they realized THERE's A LION IN THERE!    Charlee told me "I cannot go see that lion".  It was fun!

CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM FACES!  =)

I LOVE THIS!  I wish it was on video.  Brent would give Saylor a kiss and then blow her away.  The laughter was as sweet as sugar!

Let's get Daddy!

This was Valentine's Day.  How ya like our wrapping paper??? Target bags!  =)

Motorcycle Momma's!

These next few pictures are from Ian's birthday party.  It was a the glow golf place in the Decatur mall.  The girls LOVED it, especially Saylor!  I can't believe Ian is already 10! ! !

CUTIE PATOOTIES!!!!

Watching for Daddy to come home from work.  SWEET!

Kevin, Patrick and Charlie came over on Friday with their wives and kids.  Charlie made an INCREDIBLE  video of the 4 guys and their families.  It was really good getting everybody together again.  Hopefully we'll be able to do it a lot more.

Good Times with the Green's

Charlee and Saylor are the sweetest little girls I know.  They're also the biggest little stinkers I know, too!  The SWEET always out ways the other.  =)  They're 2 going on 12.  They are both incredibly independent.  Saylor more than Charlee.  AND it AMAZES us at just how smart they are.  Maybe we're a little bias, but they already know so much.  We're so proud and they surprise us daily at what they know and are able to do.  I still get teary-eyed when these things happen, too.  They're the best of friends and they're just like sisters should be.  Charlee, unfortunately bites poor Saylor some times. ...I'm told that I was a biter, too.  I have NO recollection of this.  =)   BUT, Saylor will go up to Charlee and pull a hair from her head and say "I got you hair Charlee".  Saylor is the more tender hearted and outgoing and Charlee is more stubborn and the biggest little giggle box.    We see ourselves  in each one more and more.  We just can't imagine life with only one child!  DOUBLE THE LOVE!!!  DOUBLE THE FUN!!!!

The girls' aprons and chef hats from Santa.  He must know how much they love to bake.

We've been playing with Jordyn and Addyson a lot lately.  It's so much fun for all of us.  The girls LOVE Jordyn.. One night they had been playing in their rooms and Jordyn comes out and says "Charlee and Saylor are STILL huggin' me"!  It was the SWEETEST thing!  They're huggers!

Charlee admiring herself.  Look at those sweet tippy-toes!

Their first time playing Candy Land.   I have to admit they did great!

Changes...

Life has been all kinds of crazy since my last post.  The girls have been sick pretty much since Christmas with ear infections (Charlee) and the croup (Saylor).  I used to think that the croup was just a different way to say that a kid had a cold...The croup is NOT just another word for a cold!  It's viscious!  This also makes our sweeties not sleep very well and so during Christmas when Brent and I were off work and they would cry out in the night we would just bring them to our bed and we would all sleep.  Welllll, you can imagine how hard it was for them to not want to get back into Mama and Daddy's bed when they were getting better and life went back to normal with us going to work.  This was a MAJOR struggle and I hadn't got much sleep until just this weekend.  I titled this "CHANGES" because there have been a few.  Of course you know about potty training...that's gone GREAT!  They're even waking up to go potty in the night if they need to (with some help from Mama).  They don't sit in their high chairs anymore because we ended up buying another eating table.  Our other one was way too tall for us to feel comfortable with them getting up and down in the chairs.  So now they have their own chairs at our family table. =)  I also cleaned out some toys that were really just taking up a whole lot of space.  They haven't even missed them.  Because of the whole having trouble getting them to lay down in their beds thing (they were also starting to climb out).  We decided to turn their cribs into toddler beds.  This was SO exciting! ! !  We end up laying in the floor beside them until they fall asleep and they've been sleeping through the night again.  Maybe it doesn't sound like a whole lot of crazy, but OHMY, living through it with little sleep was a whole lot of crazy!  =)

Saylor telling Daddy "You so beautiful!"

Charlee LOVES loving on Saylor, but this is Saylor's reaction when she's had enough!

Sweet Saylor Mac!  Pretty girl!

Watching Veggie Tales on our little dvd player we keep in our bathroom.

Sitting at our new table.

LOVE, LOVE

This was one of those days that Charlee felt horrible.  Our girls do not fall asleep like this. Mainly because there's always been somebody else to not let them.   I knew just how bad she felt when this happened.

All dolled up!

Christmas 2011

This Christmas was a bittersweet one.  Brent's grandmother, Mrs. Reba Trousdale, passed away on Christmas Eve morning.  She was an amazing woman.  Words can't even begin to describe how much she'll be missed.

Santa Claus was very good to Charlee and Saylor!  I hope Brent and I can always remember how FULL OF JOY our two sweeties were on Christmas morning!  I know that it'll only get better over the next few years, but this year was PRECIOUS!!!
Hanging our key for Santa on the door.  (Thank you, Aunt Mandy!)

Putting out our reindeer food in the front yard.  My students got to make these during our Christmas party.  They wanted to be sure that Charlee and Saylor had some, too.  =)

We baked special cookies for Santa with the m&m's he gave us when we saw him a couple weeks ago.

Christmas morning!!!!  This was their initial reaction...what is all this and can we touch it???
