Happy Birthday, Aunt Belee

We had a GREAT visit with Kimberly and Ava this afternoon! Today is my sister, Kimberly's birthday...so I baked a cake! =) ...red velvet...YUM! September is a busy birthday month in our family. It had been way too long since we'd had all the girls together and they had a blast playing with Ava.

This picture was taken when the girls were only a couple weeks old. I wanted to take then so we could do it again when they were one to see how much they'd grown compared to their dolls. WOW!!! Just look at how big our babies are now!! These 2 pictures really put things in perspective!

Homecoming and Happy Birthday, Aunt Mandy!!

On Friday, we took the girls to all the Lexington homecoming festivities. They had a great time at the parade and the game. They did a lot better than we expected at the game, but we still left after halftime. They LOVED dancing to the music from the band!! Saturday, we "watched" the Alabama game and ate popsicles. =) Today (Sunday), we celebrated my sweet sister, Mandy's, "21st" birthday. We went to Meme and Papa's house and ate DELICIOUS lasagna!!! and birthday cake (Willa says Happy Cake!) We got to see Meme and Papa, Cameron and Dylan, Brian, Tracy, Brooklyn, Braxton, Mandy, Zac, Ian and Willa! When we got home we had the best visit with Pops and Mimi G!!! Then, Big came over to help us with baths and to play. What a GREAT weekend!!!!

One year check-up

The girls had their 1 year check-up with Dr. Crenshaw yesterday. They walked themselves into the office! That was a bittersweet moment for me! Then, they continued to walk EVERYWHERE once they got in there! Thank goodness Meme was with me to help corral them. =) They had a great visit and got 3 shots. This was the worst visit so far with shots. They didn't like them! Dr. Crenshaw told them when we were leaving that it was a good thing they couldn't pronounce all those words they were thinking as they were screaming and crying. ;) Charlee weighs 19 lbs. 11 oz and Saylor is 19 lbs. 5 oz! Saylor's catching up! But, they're only in the 25%. We go back at 15 months, but will be getting flu shots in October and November.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAPA!!

My Daddy celebrated his 59th birthday today!!! We went to eat lunch with him, Mama, Grandma, Cameron and Dylan...and OH MY what a great lunch it was!!!! Grilled chicken wrapped in bacon, mac-n-cheese, green beans, potato salad, rolls...and birthday cake and ice cream!! I also dressed the girls differently today which felt really strange, but they looked so cute in their little shirts from the Sledge's!! We all had a wonderful time and I'm so glad we got to spend the day with Papa! Happy Birthday, Daddy!

We LOVE Tillman!

On Thursday afternoon we had a surprise visit from Aunt Kristi and Tillman! They came to bring the girls part of their birthday presents! They got the cutest pillow pals! a ladybug and a bumble bee! Charlee loved them both, but Saylor was kinda unsure about them. She'll warm up to them eventually! Thank you for coming to see us!!!

One Year Pictures at HMP

Well, yesterday we finished up our first year pictures with HMP Studios! Oh, the stress of it all! =) We got there at 2:30 and left at 5:00! The girls just didn't really want to cooperate. Of course all those cute little silly things we do with them at home that have them grinning from ear to ear didn't even phase them. We only got ONE picture of them together in their white dresses. They wouldn't stand still together and certainly didn't want to sit down together. I can't wait to see how they all turn out. I know they'll be great because Heather Mitchell is a miracle worker when it comes to capturing these girls! And, Charlee just doesn't like cake! We even put her paci in it and she still wouldn't dive in...which makes me think that when we're ready to stop pacis...Charlee gets cake on hers! =) Oh yeah, the cakes...I had baked their cakes the night before, Brent and I made the icing, but I decided not to ice them until the morning of pictures. The icing got thinned out too much and wouldn't stick to the cakes!!! Brent called Foodland in Killen and they came to the rescue with 2 plain white round cakes. I added the polka dots to them and they worked out fine but I had planned on a 2 tier cake for each them...those just went in the trash. But, it all makes for good stories to tell the girls one of these days. =)

Tea for 2...one of the girls' birthday gifts from cousin Dustin and Amanda! They love their tea! =)
